Terms of Use

Terms for the CLCC Global website, educator membership, and 2027 competition services.

Effective September 25, 2026.

1. Scope and operator

These terms apply to the CLCC Global website operated by Global Chinese Learning Institute, Corp. (CLCC) and to its 2027 competition services. The website provides competition information, adult accounts, and organization pre-applications. Membership and student entry checkout are available only when the account page shows them as open. Submission, assessment results, and certificate verification remain separate services. An organization pre-application does not grant competition eligibility or enter a student.

An adult registering, paying, or submitting work must read and accept the then-current terms, applicable competition rules, and privacy notices when those services open. Minors participate through an authorized school, organization, or guardian. CLCC remains responsible for its applicable children's privacy duties; it does not shift those duties to a school merely by these terms.

2. Eligibility, information, and authorization

The 2027 competition is for students in Grades 3–12 studying Chinese in the United States. Its official categories, divisions, dates, and fees appear on the 2027 Competition page. The seven-day refund request rule is in section 4 below. Detailed work specifications, judging criteria, awards, and appeals must still be published separately. These terms do not create rules that have not been decided.

An adult acting for a school, organization, or student must have the relevant authority, provide accurate information, and correct important errors promptly. CLCC may verify authority, eligibility, and duplicate entries. The current under-13 entry route is limited to an approved school whose arrangement and direct notice have been verified by CLCC; the school obtains and keeps the required parent authorization. A non-school organization cannot use school consent to enter an under-13 student. This route is limited to educational use benefiting the school and students. See the Children's Privacy Notice.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

Adult accounts are for their individual holders. Account holders should protect their sign-in details and contact CLCC if they become aware of unauthorized use. Account creation, organization pre-application, school access, student entry, and payment are separate steps. A form acknowledgement or screen state alone does not grant organization access or establish a successful entry or payment. CLCC treats the step as complete only when its server has confirmed the corresponding status.

Do not impersonate someone else, access student or organization records beyond your authority, bypass security controls, disrupt the service, upload malicious content, or submit student, identity-document, health, or payment information through adult forms. CLCC may pause access for a specific security or authority concern to protect students, other users, and the service, and provide a practical correction or inquiry path.

4. Entry, fees, and refunds

Educator membership costs $39 USD and renews automatically every year until cancelled. Each student entry costs $49 USD per category; an authorized educator may select any one, two, or all three categories for a student. Stripe processes card payments; CLCC does not collect card numbers on its website. A customer may request a full refund within seven calendar days of each initial or renewal membership payment or each student entry payment by emailing clcc@clccglobal.com with the account email and payment date. A full refund of a student entry cancels the corresponding paid categories. Cancelling membership renewal through the billing portal stops future renewals at the end of the current paid period; it does not itself refund an existing charge. Only a verified server record confirms payment or entry status. These terms do not reduce any rights under applicable law.

5. Work, assessment, results, and certificates

The student or original rightsholder keeps the rights to submitted work. The authorized submitter must be entitled to submit it and should not include unrelated personal information about others. Submission grants CLCC only a limited, non-exclusive license needed to receive, store, technically process, assess and review the work, release results, issue certificates, and handle reasonable disputes. It does not include advertising or public display of the work. CLCC will explain any proposed public display of a student's name, school, work, voice, or image separately and obtain applicable consent.

The future official service and separately published rules must explain when a submission is accepted, how judging works, how results can be corrected, and how an appeal can be made. Upload progress, a draft, or a screen message does not mean work was formally received. A provisional score is not an official result. The published rules will describe error correction, review, result release, and certificate revocation. No particular award or score is promised.

Certificate verification is not available now. If it later opens, it will display only the minimum verification fields approved through privacy review and necessary authorization. A certificate ID, screenshot, or unverified page alone does not establish that a certificate is valid.

6. Privacy, site content, and changes

Account and application privacy notice covers adult accounts and organization pre-applications. The Children's Privacy Notice linked above addresses student information and authorization. The site's name, design, and CLCC-created content belong to CLCC or their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of a student's work. You may access public competition information for personal and teaching reference, but must not falsely claim an official partnership with CLCC or alter official content.

CLCC will display the effective date of these terms. Material changes will receive further notice where required. Completed payments or entries remain subject to the rules and law applicable when the transaction occurred. For questions about these terms, an account, or service status, email clcc@clccglobal.com. Put “Privacy request” in the subject of a privacy request. Do not email passwords or student work.
